NGC1333 - the Embryo Nebula is a reflection nebula in the Perseus molecular cloud, estimated to be between 980 - 1,140 light years from Earth.
The nebula features a region of intense star formation, with around 150 newly formed stars aged approx 1 million years and with a total mass of about 100 Sun's. The surrounding dust obscures much of the visible spectrum and also reddens the star-light in some areas. The region also includes a number of Herbig-Haro objects, some of which are visible in the above images.
