IC1795 - the Fish Head Nebula, is a HII emission nebula, about 6,000 light-years away in the constellation of Cassiopia.
The nebula is part of a huge star forming region located along the Persius spiral arm of the Milky Way, and although it has it's own designation, it's really an extension to IC1805 - the Heart Nebula, which is much larger.
The bright section of the Fish Head is home to many massive young stars, whose ultraviolet emissions excite the surrounding hydrogen gas, causing it to glow red.
